This project is a vehicle for women as shapeshifters. It interprets a mystical femininity with animalistic play- and instinctual self-preservation against a frigid environment. Snow collects on her shoulders, glistening, while she lurks and trespasses under shadow-cast darkness. Her sensuality is skillful; she uncompromisingly harnesses her desire.
A weighted panel engineered to drape over the shoulder (changeable from concave to convex) exaggerates her arcane form when left open, and closes as a hood that the wearer can comfortably modify with variations of visibility and coverage. Buttons open the neckline to an asymmetrical collar, and when tucked into a brass bar, they curl and secure in chosen place.
Materials & finishes: Heavyweight 100% alpaca wool shell, lined with a silky poly thats cool against the skin, mother of pearl buttons, hand finished buttonholes, interior welt pocket (measured to fit my journal), embellished with brass, and embroidered with cashmere yarn
